Installing PhpMyadmin in Ubuntu that really works

From your terminal hit following commands:

  1. sudo apt-get update
  2. sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin php-mbstring php-gettext
  3. sudo phpenmod mcrypt
  4. Select apache in the server selection prompt.
  5. Then Yes on next prompt.
  6. Next step, type password for your PhpMyadmin application. (Not the mysql server password)
  7. Confirm the password.
  8. sudo phpenmod mcrypt
  9. sudo phpenmod mbstring
  10. sudo cp /etc/phpmyadmin/apache.conf /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/phpmyadmin.conf
  11. sudo service apache2 restart

Done!!
